We are celebrating the achievements of a number of our supporters, who are scaling mountains, hiking the trails and crossing Britain to raise much needed funds for us.

A team of local men have climbed the Welsh Three Peaks in just 24 hours, with the support of their friends and family, who have joined them at different points along the way, raising over £1,800 so far, while another group has cycled the breadth of England, from Whitehaven to Sunderland in one day, with over £4,300 raised so far. Lastly, two more supporters will be taking on Cheshire’s Sandstone Trail, raising over £2,000 to date.

Matt Dafforne and Jared Child reached the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan in under 24 hours.  Matt says,

Stick ‘n’ Step is an unbelievable charity that enables, inspires and supports children with cerebral palsy and their families across the North West and North Wales. It has supported and inspired a family I love very much, and enabled their amazing son Thomas, who attends their Runcorn centre, to grow and develop in such incredible ways.

Chris Twomey, from Northwich, whose daughter Lois, aged 8, also attends our Runcorn centre, completed the 135 mile cycling endurance test by pedalling from Whitehaven in Cumbria to Sunderland, accompanied by three friends. Chris says,

Stick ‘n’ Step is an amazing charity with an incredible team helping children with cerebral palsy on a daily basis, and most importantly Lois and all the other children we meet absolutely love their time there.

Paul Richards, one of our Trustees and father to Alfie, aged 14, who attends our Runcorn centre, accompanied by his friend Jonathan McKenna, are preparing to walk the 34 mile Sandstone Trail, which stretches from Frodsham to Whitchurch.

Jo Fowler, our Corporate Fundraiser, says,

We never cease to be overwhelmed by the lengths our supporters go to in order to raise these much needed funds for us. These feats of endurance are extraordinary and on behalf of everyone at Stick ‘n’ Step we would like to say a huge thank you to Matt, Jared, Chris, Paul, Jonathan and all their supporters.
