Will you take part in a Wirral challenge next month to raise money for Stick ānā Step?
09 June 2025
We are asking local people to take on a special challenge in July to help raise essential funds. Two exciting fundraising events are taking place on the same day, Sunday 6th July, both starting in New Brighton and finishing at Thurstaston.
The Wirral Kayak Challenge, now in its 13th year, challenges participants to row 14 miles around the Wirral coast line. Wirral Coastal Walk, organised by the Rotary Club of Mid Wirral, covers 12.5 miles of coastal path, with options of shorter distances of four and eight miles too.
The Wirral Kayak Challenge starts from Harrison Drive beach at around 7am – just after high tide, with participants heading over behind Hilbre Island for low tide, and then on to the finish at Dee Sailing Club for around 3pm where there will be entertainment. Wirral Coastal Walk starts from Floral Pavillion, New Brighton and ends at Wirral Country Park Visitor Centre at Thurstaston.
Netty Doyle, our Regional Fundraiser, said,
We invite our local community to come together and take on one of these amazing challenges to help us raise money for disabled children across the region. Both these events provide a great day out and they are only made possible thanks to the dedication of Mike Dudley and the Wirral Kayak organisers and John Mottershead and all at Rotary Club of Mid Wirral.
To take part in either of these challenges to raise money for Stick ‘n’ Step, please contact Netty Doyle on 0151 638 0888 or email Netty@sticknstep.org.
