Unique and united: celebrating World CP Day
14 October 2025
This month, we have been taking part in a global movement to share the stories of the children and young people we support. This global movement is World CP Day, which was held on 6 October, celebrating people with cerebral palsy and those who support them, working to create a more inclusive world.
Cerebral palsy is the most common physical disability in childhood, affecting one in four hundred babies born in the UK and there are an estimated 50 million people with cerebral palsy around the world.
As part of the celebrations for World CP Day, Warrington BSL Signing choir performed at the Trafford Centre on Saturday 4th October to fundraise for Stick 'n' Step.
Our Chief Executive, Sarah Smithson, said,
Every World CP Day we celebrate our children’s achievement in reaching their goals and fulfilling their potential by building their mobility, confidence and independence, proudly showing that they are Unique And United, which is the theme of this year’s campaign. By uniting the stories and needs of people with cerebral palsy, we can demonstrate why inclusion matters, at home and abroad.
