Record turnout for cerebral palsy charity event!
12 May 2025
A record number of golfers played in our annual golf day last week. 160 golfers took part in the event, which was held at Pryors Hayes Golf Club in Cheshire, with players coming from all across the UK. The event was followed by an evening of entertainment and an auction to boost our fundraising even further, with a total of over £24,000 raised.
Sporting stars taking part in this year’s golf day included football legends Robbie Fowler, Jason McAteer and Joe Parkinson. Sky Sports commentator Rob Palmer organised the day once more in his role as our ambassador. The winning team was captained by Mike Davis of Catalyst Interiors, one of our long-time supporters.
Rob Palmer said,
We’ve been holding this golf day every year for over 20 years and this was yet another fantastic event for Stick ‘n’ Step. It was wonderful to have the highest number of players we’ve ever had taking part and to see such fierce, but still friendly, competition for the win! I’d like to thank everyone who gave up their time to support such a worthy cause.
Our CEO, Sarah Smithson, said,
I would like to say a huge thank you once more to Pryors Hayes Golf Club, who looked after us so well, and to everyone who took part to help us raise funds for children who attend conductive education sessions at our centres in Runcorn and Wallasey. We have to raise £750,000 every year to enable us to deliver these services to the children and their families and events like this make such a difference.
