💙 Want to help make a difference in your community?

We're on the lookout for friendly local spots – newsagents, pubs, chip shops (or anywhere else!) – to host our Stick ‘n’ Step collection tins.

If you or someone you know can pop a tin on the counter, get in touch at fundraising@sticknstep.org – let’s do something amazing together! 🙌✨

Our staff and children had good reason to celebrate when they realised that our chief executive has now reached an incredible professional milestone. Our CEO Sarah Smithson has now worked with us for 20 years!

Sarah has worked at Stick ‘n’ Step since 2005, when she joined us in our early days as Operations Manager. Previously to that, she had enjoyed volunteering for us, following an introduction by our wonderful ambassador, sports commentator Rob Palmer. She became our CEO in April 2023, bringing valuable years of in-depth knowledge and professional expertise to the role.

Over the last 20 years, Sarah has seen hundreds of children at Stick ‘n’ Step experiencing life-changing conductive education. She believes making that decision to join the charity all those years ago has changed her life forever too. Sarah says,

I am just so proud of everything that Stick ‘n’ Step has achieved and all the lives it has touched over these years. If I’m ever asked why I have stayed with Stick ‘n’ Step for so long, the answer is simple. I just love it. Seeing the progress the children make to reach their potential is absolutely incredible and I feel very lucky to have been part of Stick ‘n’ Step’s growth and development for the past two decades.

We’d all like to say a huge thank you to Sarah for her incredible support over the past two decades!
