Get set for this year’s #GivingTuesday’s Big Give appeal from Stick ‘n’ Step

Did you know that Tuesday 28th November is known globally as #GivingTuesday?  It is a “global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity”. This year, we are pleased to be a part of a match-funding campaign, hosted by Big Give, which launches on #GivingTuesday. Every £1 raised through the campaign has the potential to be doubled by match-funding.

Leading up to this momentous occasion, we have several fundraising events planned. These include a charity race night on Friday 24th November at Poulton Victoria Sports & Social Club and a bingo night. A number of local schools are hosting a “Go Green for Cerebral Palsy” day to raise invaluable funds towards Stick ‘n’ Step’s campaign too.

Two generous organisations have already shown their support for Stick ‘n’ Step by pledging to match- fund monies raised for the charity. Gould Family Charitable Trust has pledged £5,250 of match funding and The Reed Foundation has pledged £3,000.

Our Trusts & Grants Officer, Netty Doyle, says,

We are seeking support from our wonderful local community in the way of small prize donations, or perhaps hosting a fundraiser, such as a quiz night, coffee morning or raffle. Some further schools or local workplaces might want to host a “Go Green for Cerebral Palsy” day in return for a voluntary donation.  #GivingTuesday is a pivotal campaign for our charity and an ideal time to ensure every fundraising effort has the maximum impact on supporting disabled children in your local area.

If any local businesses, community groups or individuals would like to get involved, please contact Netty@sticknstep.org or call 0151 638 0888.
