Job Title: Regional Fundraiser

Reports to: Head of Fundraising

Hours of work: 9:30 - 17:00 (35 hours per week)

Salary: £30,000

Location: Region 1 Wallasey Region 2 Runcorn

Stick ‘n’ Step currently provide vital support to over 100 children and their families from our centres in Wallasey and Runcorn. Our Runcorn centre opened in the summer of 2017 enabling us to reach out to more families across the North West of England. This is an exciting time to join Stick ‘n’ Step and we are looking for someone who has the passion and motivation to contribute to our dynamic organisation.

Job Purpose

The Regional Fundraiser will be responsible for an agreed income target to be achieved by working proactively across the region with community groups, such as educational establishments, rotary groups, schools, volunteer fundraisers and local businesses. The Regional Fundraiser will recruit, retain, motivate and develop supporter groups, volunteers and third parties to contribute to the income of the charity and raise local profile. There is an expectation to build upon income year-on-year. The post holder will work collaboratively with the other Regional Fundraiser to achieve targets and objectives within the designated geographical areas. They will contribute to the fundraising strategy to achieve long-term sustainability. Regional fundraising is supported by volunteers, interns and ambassadors who need to be managed effectively to successfully meet team objectives.

Job Description 

  1. Key Responsibilities: 
  • Contribute to and deliver against annual budgets, targets and plans, including controlling expenditure.
  • Use management information to monitor performance and report regularly against KPIs.
  • Develop and inspire new supporters; fundraising groups, volunteers and ambassadors - building long-term relationships, raising the profile across the region, and secure income.
  • Research, approach and engage community groups and local supporters using mechanisms for engaging their support to develop additional sources of income.
  • Research, approach and motivate companies and event organisers to gain their support through and secure Charity of the Year relationships, where appropriate.
  • Take responsibility for planning, managing and delivering community events for Stick ‘n’ Step in line with the business plan and annual budget.
  • Deliver professional and inspiring presentations both orally and written to a wide-ranging community audience to secure support.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing Stick ‘n’ Step supporters.
  • Make the fundraising ‘ask’ as and when appropriate, and support others to do so.
  • Manage administration resulting from regional fundraising activity.
  • Represent the charity to the media as required 
  1. Leadership and Strategy: 
  • Provide guidance and direction for volunteers and ambassadors.
  • Professionally represent the charity internally and externally
  • Support Volunteer Fundraisers and external Groups to effectively fundraise for Stick ’n’ Step.
  • Identify additional revenue streams and growth areas for Regional Fundraising in the region and in collaboration with your line manager devise an annual budget for your own area of responsibility.
  • Develop and deliver activities and campaigns within agreed deadlines and to budget.
  • Provide detailed reports on the progress of fundraising function to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Develop professional and profitable long-term working relationships with supporters, providing excellent levels of stewardship to maximise their income and retention year on year.
  • Develop opportunities to engage with the corporate community in networking and public speaking.
  • Ensure that existing corporate and community relationships are managed to their maximum potential through excellent account management.
  • Provide corporate and community supporters with opportunities to volunteer for Stick ‘n’ Step, this may include fundraising and community events, practical help at our centres or skill sharing.
  • Record all prospects, activity and income on the charity CRM (Donorfy).
  • Create engaging content for the Stick ‘n’ Step social media platforms to celebrate success and highlight opportunities for individuals and organisations to engage in our work and support Stick ‘n’ Step.
  • Provide content relating to fundraising activity to be included in the quarterly Fundraising Newsletter.
  1. Developing, Maintaining Systems and Procedures:
  • Report against plan monthly, identify variance and make appropriate recommendations. Ensure that data relevant to areas of responsibility and activity is adequately and safely recorded and stored in Donorfy.
  • Ensure Donorfy is updated with all communications with supporters.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection guidelines and corporate policy 
  1. People Management and Development: 
  • Recruit and retain high calibre volunteers through effective supervision (following best practice guidelines for managing volunteers), including providing relevant development opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and direction to volunteers and ambassadors to create a positive atmosphere, including conducting regular meetings with volunteers so they are informed and motivated.
  • Inspire and provide advice and support to volunteers and ambassadors recognising and valuing their contribution

 Special Conditions: 

  • It is expected that the post holder will be out of the office regularly meeting supporters and stakeholders.
  • Flexible working to support evening and weekend events.
  • Full driving licence and access to transport will be required.
  • This role will require an Enhanced DBS Check.

Volunteer Classroom Assistant - Thursday pm

Job Title: Classroom Assistant

Reports to: Lead Conductor

Hours of volunteering: Thursday afternoon 12.45am until 3.30pm. Term time only.

Location: Stick ‘n’ Step, 3 Croxteth Avenue, Wallasey

Children and young people are motivated by working alongside their peers in a positive environment and are empowered to achieve realistic goals that are specific and relevant to them.

Stick ‘n’ Step currently provide vital support to over 100 children and their families from our centres in Wallasey and Runcorn. This is an exciting time to join Stick ‘n’ Step and we are looking for someone who has the passion and motivation to contribute to the organisation.

Working together with the classroom team, you will assist in the delivery of conductive education programmes, which meet the individual needs of participating children and young people.

Delivery of the educational programme

  • Join in and facilitate participants during group or individual Conductive Education sessions according to complex programmes and individual aims.
  • Participate in and share responsibility for creating and maintaining an appropriate, safe and attractive learning environment for children and young people. This includes basic cleaning tasks, upholding high standards of hygiene.
  • Assist in the management of children's behaviour.

Training, development and supporting the Stick ‘n’ Step team

  • Review, with appropriate persons, own training and development needs, agreeing and taking appropriate action.
  • Adhere to all agreed policies, planning programmes and development plans.
  • Represent the organisation to visitors, funders, families and all other stakeholders in the highest possible standards.
