This years Conductive Education Professional Education Group (CEPEG) conference was a huge success. (CEPEG has been established to support the development and practice of Conductive Education (CE) throughout the United Kingdom.) We have been blown away by the messages congratulating us on such a professional and enjoyable conference. We thoroughly enjoyed it, it was great to see old faces and meet new ones.
The conference weekend started on Friday with open house at Stick ‘n’ Step. Mayor of Wirral Cllr Steve Foulkes joined us to open our newly refurbished sensory room. Then it was off to Vinea Wine Bar in Albert Dock to enjoy wine tasting with friends we haven’t seen since the last conference.
Saturday saw 160 delegates join us at the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool ONE. The conference was opened by Stick ‘n’ Step Ambassador Rob Palmer followed by the Hungarian Ambassador Peter Szabadhegy. The key note speaker was Antony Stagg who spoke passionately about people who have inspired him. After a well deserved coffee and pastry break, a number of break out sessions run by centres from around the country took place.
The Lord Mayor of Liverpool Cllr Erica Kemp CBE popped in with the Young Lord Mayor and the Junior Lord Mayor to open the afternoon’s proceedings. The conference finished with a spectacular slide presentation featuring pictures from all the centres that attended the conference kicking off CE awareness week. Thank you to everyone who helped to make this a fabulous conference and we’ll see you all next year at Percey Hedley.
