Stick n Step

Staff - Clare Ashworth

What do you do?

Hello, I'm Clare and I'm the new fundraiser at Stick 'n' Step.  I will be helping to raise funds for us from Charitable Trusts, Companies and the Lottery Fund.

 Clare Ashworth

What is it like working for Stick ‘n’ Step?

What a challenge!  I'm looking forward to securing money and support to help Stick 'n' Step develop in many ways!

What did you do before, when did you join Stick ‘n’ Step and why?

I have been a fundraiser for 12 years and most recently worked at the Boat Museum in Ellesmere Port.  I wanted to work for Stick 'n' Step to make a difference to children's lives and help the organisation show the outside world what it achieves.

What Qualifications/experience do you have that is relevant to your role?

I have been fundraising for 12 years and worked for four different organisations doing this, as well as giving advice on fundraising on a voluntary basis.  I hold a first aid qualification and have a degree in psychology and sociology.

What do you find rewarding?

Without doubt - it sounds cliche - but the ability to make a difference.  I love seeing something happen as a direct result of my work.

Experience and Interests

I love travelling and am always keen to see new places.  My hobbies are reading, gardening and DIY.  I also speak Welsh and French and try to fit in practising as much as possible.

What values do you feel are important for working with Stick ‘n’ Step

I always try to be respectful of others and use good manners and good humour whenever possible.  Life is too short to be grumpy and rude!
