On a wet Wednesday in July we closed the Centre and all went to a Farm in Cheshire, specially designed for disabled children. What a day!! It was wonderful. The facilities were better than we could have imagined. The music room had fabulous instruments, the sports hall was state of the art, even the craft room had interesting things to do. The children loved it, although we wished it hadn't rained quite so much!
The sun shone, the golf was fantastic and the third Annual Golf Day proved to be another huge success.
After months of planning, the stage was set for a fabulous day. 39 teams took part, which included Clayton Blackmore, John H Stracey, John Durnin, John Ebrell and Gary Gillespie. Derek Mountfield and wife Jules ended up clear winners, with Martin Redrup the owner of the Golf Club giving them a run for their money, finally coming in third with his team. Clayton Blackmore just got in on the prizes, coming in fifth. Comedian Willie Miller entertained the crowd who stayed for the evening and a huge sum of money was raised at the auction. Here's to next year!!
Grace and mum Leanne arrived back safely from China on Sunday 17th April, a month after having gone out there. Grace has undergone a series of 6 Stem Cell treatments. Dad Michael and sister Rose, survived life without mum and loved the idea of staying in touch by blog.

Stick 'n' Step followed Grace's every move on the blog and posted a few comments too!! If you would like to read all about Grace's progress too, why not log on to:- www.stemcellschina.com/blog/graced and read all about their month long adventure. Grace has also posted some fantastic photos of where they were staying, locals at work, the hospital and of course, herself!!
The Stick 'n' Step inaugural Christmas play proved to be a huge success. There wasn't even any room to stand!! After weeks of practicing, it all came together on the day. This was probably the first time every cast member was present. In rehearsals there was always at least one person missing!!
All the children sang their hearts out whilst Alethea's dad supplied the music. Two plays followed, with music, laughter and tears (by the parents of course!), we had it all. The feedback afterwards was so positive, with everyone asking when we are going to do it again?
It's hard work for both the children and the staff. Hearty congratulations must go to the Conductors and Classroom Assistants for their part in all this. Without them we wouldn't have a play.
And finally................ thanks to ALL of you for attending, donating gifts, making costumes, catering, buying raffle tickets, we really do appreciate your support. See you all next time!!
