Neil and Jill's Ball's just get better and better. The venue (Formby Hall Golf Club) has been completely renovated and looked stunning. Several Show Girls greeted guests as they arrived and then entertained us whilst we had a pre dinner drink. It was another sell out. Neil, with the help of Willie Miller the comedian, ensured that everyone dug deep throughout the auction. The bids rolled in and a huge amount was raised yet again. Thank you Neil and Jill.
Hannah's mum Tracie is planning to trek up Mount Kilimanjaro leaving on January 19th 2009. Standing 5,895 metres tall, Kilimanjaro towers over the plains of Kenya and Tanzania. It is said that those who reach Uhuru Peak can see with their own eyes the dawn rising over Africa. Climbing Kilimanjaro will be the challenge of a lifetime for Tracie. Tracie will be treking with a friend and is in the process of setting up a Just Giving account. As soon as we have the details, we'll put a link on this page. Obviously all the proceeds are coming to Stick 'n' Step, so start digging deep, whilst Tracie starts her training.

Mount Kilimanjaro rises out of the Serengeti like a great warrior, dwarfing the landscape below.
Karl, George's uncle and a group of 20 mates have been training for the last 6 months for the 1st May. They are going to cycle 174 miles from Ravenglass to South Shields, a route known as the Hadrian's Cycleway. They will take three day's to do it but it's a massive task. The route stretches the length of Hadrian's Wall World Heritage Site, along the Cumbrian Coast, through the Northumberland National Park and along the river Tyne to Arbela Roman Fort in South Shields. When I last spoke to Karl he had just finished training in thick snow. With the weather as it currently is, who knows what 1st May will bring!!
If you would like to sponsor Karl he has set up a Just Giving account. Please click on the attached link. All of the money raised will come to Stick 'n' Step, so please give generously.
Zak's mum Debi is running the Women's 10k on Sunday 11th May.
She would love you all to pop down and give her a wave. She'll be wearing her Stick 'n' Step tee shirt as she did last year. (Debi is pictured left, crossing the line at last year's 10k race). The venue is Sefton Park in Liverpool.
Claire (Luke's mum) normally runs with Debi, but this year she is away so she has chosen to run through the Mersey tunnel. It will be a 10k race, the same as Debi's but very different from Sefton Park! It takes place on Sunday 1st June and again, if you can pop down and give her a wave, I know she'd appreciate it. Good luck from Stick 'n' Step to both our brave mum's!
A good friend of Leanne, Grace's mum, took the drastic step of having all his hair shaved off in order to raise money for Stick 'n' Step. It was February 29th, in the local pub, the crowds gathered, a few pints were downed and then it happened. The first cut.................
Several cuts later and it was too late, the hair disappeared and we saw the real Nick. Wow, you look fantastic - it really suits you. Hundreds of pounds are now pouring in. A huge "thank you".
