Currently there are no permanent vacancies for staff but if you are interested in joining the Stick 'n' Step team, please contact us and we will be happy to keep your details on file.

Volunteers

We are always looking for willing volunteers to help us, at the Centre, in the shop and fundraising. If you are looking to volunteer with Stick 'n' Step you will need to complete a CRB police check - any person working with children is required by law to satisfy this. Please do not be offended when we ask you to fill in a form. We will help you through it.

The Centre

If you can spare a few hours and would like to work with our children in the classroom or indeed help out in the Admin unit, then please ask - we may be able to accommodate you.

Currently we have a number of volunteers who give up a couple of hours of their time to help out in the classroom on various days. They help not only our Conductors but they also help prepare the classroom, do the washing up, help prepare some sessions under the guidance of the Conductors and Classroom assistants, they do almost anything that needs an extra pair of hands.

Some volunteers ask specifically for administration work and lend a helping hand in the Admin unit. However much or little you want to do, we can find a job which will mean we can concentrate on raising more money to keep the Centre going.

Fundraising

If you feel your energies would be better used helping us raise money, again let us know.

Some of our parents have undertaken the following activities in the last 12 months that they have organised entirely themselves:

Bag pack, Summer Ball, Mystic night, Coffee morning, Selling of sweets, Selling of Stick 'n' Step badges, Christmas cards, wristbands, mugs and pens, Football boot auction, Meet the boxer, Filling of Smarties boxes with 20p's

The Shop

With new premises, twice the size of the old one, we need more volunteers. Would you like to work on the shop floor or in the back stock room? We need your help in both areas. The stock comes in from very generous families and all needs sorting, pricing, displaying and selling. If you have an hour, we can find you a job!
