Welcome, Bien Venue, Szeruusztok and thank you for visiting my profile.  My name is Gabor; I became a member of the Stick 'n' Step team on February 23rd 2009.  I am a Conductive Education Teacher working with physically challenged people of all ages.  Everyone is capable of learning and working with Conductors towards an independant life and finding their way forwards.

What is it like working for Stick ‘n’ Step?

When I came for my interview I instantly felt a warm and friendly atmosphere and people immediately made me feel at ease.  As part of my interview, I participated in a group activity and was instantly accepted by them.  The feeling was good all round.

What did you do before, when did you join Stick ‘n’ Step and why?

Since 1981 I have continuously worked in different positions within the Conductive Education area.  In 2004 I founded Q.C.E.T (Qualified Conductive Education Teaching) where I work as a self employed teacher.  I continue to operate Q.C.E.T in tandem with Stick 'n' Step but neither infringes upon the other.

What Qualifications/experience do you have that is relevant to your role?

In the past, I have been a road and bridge technician, a general nurse, a Conductive Education teacher and a front of house manager at a local theatre. 

What do you find rewarding?

I love working with people in all environments: on the ground or in the air.  I cannot see myself in an office from 9 to 5 tapping away at a keyboard.  This is not my cup of tea!  I like helping people.

Experience and Interests

My main interest (love) is anything connected with the aviation industry.  My ultimate ambition would be to earn a Boeing 737/800 pilot's licence.  I already have a diploma as a cabin crew member.  My other interest is the theatre and I volunteer my customer services skills as a front of house manager at the theatre in Barnsley.  I find it very rewarding.

What values do you feel are important for working with Stick ‘n’ Step

With my 28 years experience I can bring to the Stick 'n' Step community fresh ideas based on Conductive Education.  I hope to help improve the Stick 'n' Step clients and swell the numbers of the organisation through enthusiasm, stimulation and perhaps with the integrated skills from other volunteers in the creative performing arts fields.
