Assessments

The assessment is where a parent and child visit the Centre and one of our Conductors assesses the child’s movement. It is an ideal opportunity for the parent to discuss the child’s needs with our Conductor.  The whole family are welcome to attend and ask questions.

Each assessment lasts approximately one hour. However, every assessment is different according to the child’s ability and needs.

At the end of the assessment the Conductor will discuss the suitability of Conductive Education with the parents. Alternative therapies are suggested if Conductive Education is not an option.

If we are able to offer a place immediately, then a start date will be agreed. If however, the child needs to go on to our waiting list, this will be discussed and a likely start date advised.

It is extremely helpful if an assessment form is completed prior to the assessment to enable our Conductors to have some background information before meeting the child. The assessment form can be obtained from the Centre or downloaded from the link below.
